Welcome to the newest upscale living option in Harrisburg.

The nonprofit that owns Strawberry Square has redeveloped a number of spaces into apartments in recent years. This week, Harristown Enterprises Inc. held a ribbon-cutting to mark the opening of The Bogg on Cranberry at 221. N. Second St. in Harrisburg.

The Bogg on Cranberry features 12 upscale apartments with a modern farmhouse design. Harristown officials describe the apartments as featuring a “rustic timeless look presented in a clean uncluttered way.”

Apartments feature granite countertops, pipe shelving, stainless steel appliances, and tiled showers. The building includes 10-one bedroom units and two, two-bedroom units. Eight of the apartments have been leased.

The entire building which sits at Second and Cranberry streets has been converted into apartments except for about 500 square feet which will be used for retail.

The building was built in 1900, according to Dauphin County property records. The building was designated as a certified historic structure by the U.S. Department of Interior in 1981. The building once housed Waypoint Bank offices but, has sat mostly vacant for the past decade.
